Cruz Azul is a Mexican football club that plays in the top division of Mexican football, Liga MX. Originally from Hidalgo in the town of Jasso (now part of the "city cooperative" Ciudad Cooperativa Cruz Azul), south of Tula de Allende, the club moved to Mexico City in 1971. Estadio Azteca, the nation's largest sports venue, served as their home venue until 1996, when they moved to the Estadio Azul.
